Linamar Corporation

We are over on the Alandi Kuruli Road in Chakan, right at Plot No 3 and 4. The company goes by Linamar Corporation, or Linamar Pvt Ltd on the paperwork. Chakan is a massive place for car parts, and we are right in the thick of it at 679/2. The road outside can be a bit of a mess with all the construction and the big trailers, but inside the gate, things are more organized. We spend our time working on driveline parts and engine bits. It means a lot of machining and turning metal. It’s not a job for someone who wants to sit in an office all day. You’re on your feet, checking gauges and making sure the parts are coming out the right size. Sometimes a machine breaks down and the maintenance guys have to scramble to fix it, which adds a bit of excitement to the day. We don't put on any airs here. It’s just a group of people trying to get the production targets met so we can go home to our families. There is usually a long queue of vehicles on the road in the mornings which can make you late if you don't plan for it. The tea stall right outside the gate is where most of us end up after the shift is over. It’s a decent enough spot to work. The work is hard, the environment is loud, and there’s always a lot of grease involved. But that’s the reality of a manufacturing unit like ours in the Chakan belt.
