We are located out in Shirur, which is a good distance away from the main Pune city area. Lexim International is based right in the middle of Mumbai Bazar, at Shirish Bhikaji Lolage’s place. It is a very lively area where people are always coming and going, buying and selling stuff. We got into the international trade side of things because there seemed to be a lot of local products that people elsewhere might want. Working in a place like Shirur is nice because it’s different from the madness of Mumbai; you actually know your neighbors and the folks at the tea shop. We handle exports mostly, trying to get local items out to bigger markets across the sea. It is not always easy dealing with the trucks and the logistics, but we've learned how to manage it over time. The office at 3122 Mumbai Bazar is where we keep all our files and take our business calls. Sometimes it gets a little loud outside because of the market activity, but the energy keeps us going. We aren't a huge team at all. Usually, it's just two or three of us handling the heavy paperwork and talking to the transport guys. We spend a lot of time checking quality before anything is packed up. It is a lot of work but we have gotten used to the rhythm of it. We don't have a corporate manual. We just learned everything by doing it ourselves and talking to people. It's a solid way to work.
