Being on Sinhagad Road means there is never a dull moment. The noise from the traffic is constant, but you learn to block it out when you are focused on a structural plan. Our office is pretty simple. We do not have fancy furniture or a big lobby. It is just a place to work. There are always rolls of paper leaning against the walls and folders piled up on the floor. We spend our days designing spaces for people. It is not about being trendy; it is about making sure the building is solid and the rooms make sense. We talk to a lot of different people, from masonry workers to homeowners. Sinhagad Road is a long stretch, and we have worked on various spots along it. Sometimes the work is slow and tedious, like when you are checking the same measurement for the fifth time. Other times, things move too fast and you are rushing to get a drawing to the site before the concrete truck arrives. It is a bit chaotic, but it is what we are used to. We do not have a website that looks like a magazine. We just have our desks, our tools, and the projects we are currently handling. Most of our day is spent solving small problems that most people do not even think about, like where the light switches should go. It is a practical life, and we like being right here.
