Kutumb Vikas Foundation

Kutumb Vikas Foundation is located at 60, Kalavantwadi, which is in the Shirur Taluka. The name of the foundation is about family development, and that’s really what we focus on in this small corner of the world. Kalavantwadi is one of those places where life revolves around the local community and the seasons. We aren't some big organization with a lot of funding. We are just a few people who live here and wanted to see things get a bit better for the families in Shirur. The office is just a simple space at number 60. You won't see any big signs or fancy lights. Mostly, we just sit down with people from the village and listen to what’s going on. Whether it’s problems with farming or kids needing help with their studies, we try to be a point of contact for them. Shirur has its own set of challenges, and being tucked away in Kalavantwadi means we are right in the middle of it. We don't use a lot of big words or complicated plans. It’s more about just being there for each other. Some days are slow and some days the whole village seems to have something going on. We just keep the doors open and see who comes by. It’s a very practical way of living and working. Family is the most important thing here, and we just try to support that.
