The mill is located at 11-15-6 in the L. B. Nagar area. It’s a busy spot and you can usually hear the sound of the machines from a little way down the road. There is always the smell of fresh cut wood in the air, which is something you get used to after working here for a few days. The yard is filled with stacks of timber of different sizes and types. It’s a bit of a messy place, to be honest, with sawdust everywhere despite our best efforts to sweep it up. We have a small office area at the front where we keep the ledgers and handle the customers who come by. The roof is made of corrugated sheets, so it gets quite loud when it rains. We don't have any air conditioning, just the natural breeze and a few heavy-duty fans to keep the air moving. Most of our day is spent moving wood around or supervising the cutting. It’s physical work and it’s dusty, so we aren't wearing suits or anything like that. The neighbors in L. B. Nagar are mostly other small workshops, so nobody really complains about the noise. We have a big gate at the entrance that we leave open during the day so the trucks can back in easily. Sometimes the sawdust gets so thick we have to stop for a minute and clear the air. It's just honest work.
