Out here in Sanaswadi, things move at a different pace than in the city. Our place is located at Gat No. 941-942, and it's a fairly large area where we handle all the stamping work. The mornings usually start with the sound of the gates opening and the first few trucks rolling in from the main road in Taluka Shirur. It gets pretty loud once the machines start up, and the smell of metal is something you just get used to after a few days. We don't have a big office with air conditioning; mostly we are out on the floor making sure the presses are working right. It’s hard work and the sun really beats down on the roof during the summer months, but we have a good crew who knows how to handle it. We take our breaks together under the shade when we can. There is always a lot of dust from the surrounding fields and the road, so we are constantly cleaning things off. It’s a straightforward business where we just focus on getting the parts out the door on time. No one here is trying to be fancy or act like they know more than they do. We just put in our hours, deal with the occasional machine breakdown, and make sure everything is packed up before the sun goes down. It’s just how things are out here in the industrial belt.
