Koregaon Aarthik Nidhi Limited is located at Gat No.450 in the area of Sasurve. We are set up at the house of Bajirao Bandu More, which is a well-known name around here. Being in a small village like Sasurve means everyone knows what’s going on with everyone else. We started this because people in the Koregaon Taluka needed a way to save money closer to home. Before this, they had to go all the way into the main town for everything, which takes a lot of time. Now, they can just walk over to our spot. It’s a very simple setup. We don't have air conditioning or fancy tiled floors. It’s just a room with some chairs and a sturdy wooden table. We keep the books by hand mostly, though we do have some digital records on the laptop. Most days are pretty slow, with folks stopping by after they finish their work in the fields. We talk about the harvest and the local news while we handle the deposits. It’s a very local way of doing things. We don't have a marketing team or any glossy brochures. Word just gets around from one person to the next. If someone needs a small loan to get through a tough month, we see what we can do to help. It’s about helping the people we see every day at the local market or the bus stop.
