Kohinoor Batteries

We are based in the Chandan Nagar City Industrial Estate, at unit number 35. It is a very industrial area, so there is always a lot of noise from the nearby factories and the smell of grease in the air. We deal with all kinds of batteries here. Most of the work involves heavy ones for cars, trucks, or those big inverter sets that people keep in their homes. The shop floor is concrete and it’s covered with rows of batteries of different sizes. I spend most of my day with a wrench in my hand or checking voltages with a meter. It’s a heavy job and you have to be careful not to drop anything on your toes. My clothes usually have a few holes or stains from the acid, but that is just part of the business. Customers come to us when they have a problem, usually when their car won’t start on a cold morning. We just take a look, test the cells, and see what needs to be done. There is a small desk in the corner where I keep the bills and a few old diaries. The phone rings a lot with people asking about prices or if their battery is ready for pickup. The industrial estate is always dusty, so I have to wipe down the counter several times a day. It is hard work but it keeps us busy from morning to night. The street outside is usually lined with tempos and big trucks.
