We have been sitting here at Neelkanth Apartments in Shankar Nagar for quite a few years now. The shop isn't much to look at from the outside but it is where all the camera work happens. Most people find us because they live nearby in Tulshibaugwale Colony or they heard from a friend that we can take a look at a stuck lens. It gets pretty dusty around here so we spend a lot of time just cleaning sensors and blowing out grit from old buttons. Sometimes the parts take forever to arrive and we have to tell people to wait a week which isn't always fun. We started out just messing around with our own gear and then people started bringing their stuff over. It is a small space with a couple of workbenches and way too many cables tangled in the corner. You might have to walk up the stairs since the lift is sometimes temperamental. We don't have a big staff, just two or three of us who know our way around a circuit board. If you are coming from the main road, just look for the apartment gates and we are right there. We mostly deal with digital stuff these days but every now and then an old film camera shows up and we do what we can. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until the sun goes down. Nothing fancy, just tools and tiny screws everywhere.
