Kalpana Trader

Kalpana Trader is based at No. 6/87 in Ganesh Nagar, over in Yerwada. It’s a busy little part of town. We’ve been operating out of this small space for years. It’s basically a storeroom and an office combined into one. We trade in various goods, so there are always boxes stacked up against the walls. It’s not very organized to look at, but we know where everything is. Yerwada has its own pace, and we’re right in the thick of it. The morning sun hits the front of the shop quite early. We open up and start checking what needs to go out that day. It’s mostly manual work, moving things around and checking invoices. We don’t have any fancy software for this; we mostly use ledgers and notes. Ganesh Nagar is a tight-knit community, so we know most of the people who walk past our door. If you’re looking for us, look for the stack of crates near the entrance. It’s not a corporate office by any means. There’s usually a radio playing in the background. We drink a lot of tea while we work through the orders. Sometimes we run out of space and have to rearrange everything just to get the door shut. It’s a bit chaotic, but it’s how we’ve always done it. We just focus on getting the goods to whoever needs them. It’s simple trading and it keeps us busy from morning till night. No frills, just business.
