The Bhosari industrial area is where we have been for years. Our unit is at 33/7, Survey No 169. It is a big gray building like all the others around here. When the machines are running, the whole floor vibrates a little bit. We make parts and components mostly. The air always smells like oil and burnt metal. It is not a place for clean clothes. We have a small gate where the workers come in at eight. There is a lot of clanking and banging until the evening. We have a water cooler that everyone gathers around when it gets too hot. The paperwork is done on a small wooden desk near the entrance. Sometimes the trucks get stuck in the narrow lanes of Bhosari and we have to wait. We don't have a fancy lobby or anything like that. If you come to see us, you will probably find us in overalls. We focus on getting the dimensions right. If a part is off by a hair, we start over. That is just how the work is. The neighborhood is full of small shops doing the same thing. We all know each other's schedules. It is a lot of hard work but we are used to the rhythm of the factory now. The scrap pile out back grows every week until the truck comes to take it away.
