Jrl Foundation

The Jrl Foundation is tucked away in Shree Nagari, specifically at Flat I/2 in Section A, right behind Appu Ghar in Nigdi. It’s a familiar area for most people around here because of the park. We chose this spot because it's quiet and easy for us to get to. The foundation is basically run out of this flat by a few of us who have lived in Nigdi for years. We aren't trying to be a huge corporation. We just wanted a dedicated space to handle the community work we were already doing on the side. The office is pretty small, just enough room for a few chairs and some cabinets for our files. We spend a lot of time talking to the people who live in the surrounding buildings. Since we are right behind Appu Ghar, we see a lot of families passing by. We often have people knocking on the door just to ask a quick question or to see what we are up to. We try to keep things very informal. There are no suits or big meetings here. It’s mostly just us sitting around with some tea, figuring out how to help someone with a local problem. We like it this way because it keeps us close to the ground. We don't have a big budget, so we have to be very practical about what we take on. It’s just honest work in a neighborhood we know well. We enjoy the local atmosphere.
