Jijau Empowerment Foundation

If you’re driving through the Phursungi area in Pune, you’ll eventually find Survey Number 207. That is where the Bhairavnath Complex is located. Our place, Jijau Empowerment Foundation, is right inside in Flat B/401. It is directly in front of Satyapuram, which helps people find us when they get lost looking at the building numbers. The flat isn't huge, but it works for what we do every day. We spend a lot of time sitting around the table here. You can see the Hadapsar traffic moving along from the window if you look out at the right angle. The walls are a bit plain, and we have a few old files stacked in the corner that we really should organize better one of these days. It gets a bit warm in the afternoons, so we keep the ceiling fans going at full speed. People from the neighborhood sometimes drop by just to ask directions or see what’s going on in the complex. It feels like a very normal, local spot. We don't have a big reception desk or fancy lights. Usually, there is just someone sitting at the main desk near the door and a half-empty box of biscuits nearby. We like being in this part of Pune because it feels busy and alive. The stairs can be a bit of a climb if the lift is acting up, but we are used to it by now. It’s just how things are here at Bhairavnath Complex.
