JANUARY TEXTILES PRIVATE LIMITED

We are over here at Aashish Building in Goregaon West. It is on the third floor, room 301. Most days start early with the tea guy coming around while we look at the fabric samples piled up on the big table. It gets a bit crowded when new stock arrives but we manage to sort through everything eventually. Mumbai is always loud outside the window but inside we just focus on getting the textile orders out to the people who need them. Some of us have been here for years and know the rhythms of the place by heart. We don’t have fancy decorations or anything. It’s just a workspace with some desks, a few old chairs, and rows of files. Sometimes the elevator acts up and we have to take the stairs, which isn’t great in the heat. We deal with various types of cloth and spend a lot of time on the phone with suppliers or checking the quality of what comes in. It is basically just honest work every day. The address is easy to find if you know Goregaon well enough. We keep things moving and try not to let the paperwork get too high. It’s just us doing what we know how to do without making a big fuss about it. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over time but our little corner in room 301 stays pretty much the same.
