Janbhoomi Social Foundation

Janbhoomi Social Foundation is based out of a flat in Pune. We are at Dipraj Home in Ingale Wasti, specifically Flat Number 24 on the fourth floor of the S No 34/1/4 building. It’s a residential area, so it doesn't feel like a cold corporate office at all. We basically work from where we live. It started out as just a few of us wanting to do something for the community. We don't have a lot of funding or big donors. It’s mostly just neighbors helping neighbors. We use the flat to store things we collect for people and to plan out our next projects. Sometimes the living room is full of boxes and sometimes it's empty. That’s just how it goes. Pune is a big city, but Ingale Wasti feels like a small village sometimes because everyone knows what's going on. We don't have a mission statement hanging on the wall. We just see a problem and try to fix it if we can. It’s honest work. Sometimes we get tired, but then someone stops by for tea and we feel better. If you’re looking for us, just ask around the Dipraj Home building. Most of the security guards know where Flat 24 is. We’ve been here for several years and don't plan on moving anytime soon because we like the neighbors too much to leave our local spot.
