Jaivikshastram Education & Research Foundation

Budhwar Peth is one of those places in Pune where you can really feel the history. Our foundation, Jaivikshastram Education & Research, is located at 577 Budhwar Peth, right in the Ambekar Bol lane. We are in Gunjal Wada, which is quite close to Nana Wada. The building is old, and the lanes are narrow, so it’s not the easiest place to find if you’re driving. We’ve been here for a while, focusing on research and education. It’s a bit of a mix of old-world charm and academic work. Our rooms are filled with books and papers, and the air always feels a bit still. We don’t have a fancy lobby or modern office furniture. Most of our furniture has been here for years. Working in such a historical part of the city means we’re surrounded by the hustle of the market nearby. You hear the bells from the temples and the sound of people walking by all day. It’s a very grounded way to work. We spend our days reading, writing, and sometimes hosting small groups of people who are interested in what we do. It’s not a fast-paced environment. We take our time with things. Research isn't something you can rush anyway. We’re just a small group of people who appreciate the quiet work of learning. Being in the heart of the old city makes it feel like we’re part of something bigger and older.
