Innomatec India Test and Special Equipment Pvt. Ltd. is located over at Unit 14 in the Khira Industrial Co-op Society. We are right on Telco Road in the General Block. It’s one of those older industrial societies where everyone knows everyone else’s business. Our unit numbers are a bit of a mouthful, 71/1B/9 and 10, but once you find the gate, it’s not hard to spot us. The space is filled with all sorts of equipment and testing gear. It’s not the cleanest place in the world because there is always some project being taken apart or put together. We have some heavy workbenches that have seen a lot of use over the years. The air always smells a bit like metal and oil. That’s just the nature of the work we do here. Telco Road can get pretty jammed up during shift changes at the bigger plants nearby. We usually try to get in early to beat the rush. Inside, it’s a mix of computers and heavy machinery. We don’t have a fancy reception area. If you walk in, you’re basically standing right where the work happens. We like it that way. It’s honest work and we don’t feel the need to hide it behind glass walls or posh carpets. Sometimes the power flutters and we have to reset everything, which is a pain. But we get by. It’s just a group of us trying to do a good job. We share a small kettle for making tea and keep things moving.
