Indian Army

Over here in Pune, we are situated in Vimannagar at the Lunkad Greenland 1 complex. It is a pretty decent area to be in, fairly close to the airport and surrounded by a mix of homes and other offices. The Indian Army presence here is mostly about keeping the administrative side of things moving along. Our space at A-5 is not very large, but it is enough for the few of us who work here every day. Pune has that nice weather for a good part of the year, so we often keep the windows open to catch a breeze while we are going through the files. We don't really do much in the way of public outreach or anything like that; we just focus on the tasks assigned to us. It is a regular job with regular hours, and we try to keep things organized despite the constant flow of documents. Sometimes the printers act up or the internet goes down, and we just have to wait it out and talk about what's going on in the neighborhood. It is a simple, practical environment without any of the polish you might find in a big business park. We are just a small part of a much bigger system, doing our daily bit in this corner of Maharashtra. Most of us live nearby, so it feels like a very local operation despite the official nature of the work.
