Ideal Interiors

Our place is in the Tirupati Arcade over at Thermax Chowk. If you’re looking for us, we’re right next to the Sai Palace Hotel in Chinchwad. It’s a busy area and the noise from the junction never really stops. We spend our days surrounded by wood shavings, laminates, and sketches of cupboards. The floor is usually covered in sawdust by noon, no matter how much we try to sweep it up. We do interiors, but it’s more about the actual building of things than just looking at pretty pictures. We have a few old carpenters who have been with us since we opened, and they’re really the ones who do the hard work. We don't have a big glossy catalog to show people; we usually just show them pieces of wood or photos on our phones of what we finished last week. Chinchwad is a hardworking town, and we fit right in. Sometimes customers come in with very complicated ideas, and we have to sit down and explain why a certain hinge won't work that way. It’s a lot of talking and measuring. We drink way too much chai during these meetings. The office is a bit cramped because we keep storing extra materials in the back, but it works for us. We just like making things that fit well in people's houses and last for a while.
