Hsa Hunarr Sikho Foundation

Hsa Hunarr Sikho Foundation is based on the ground floor of a building in Azad Nagar, right on Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Road in Mumbai. The area is always buzzing with people and the sound of traffic is constant. Our space is in building 1139. We picked this spot because it’s easy for people to find us when they are walking by. The whole idea behind the name is about learning skills, and we wanted a place that felt open to everyone. It’s a basic ground floor room with some benches and a few old computers we managed to get. It’s often quite dusty because of all the construction and vehicles outside, but we don’t mind. We are just a small team of people who think that knowing how to do something with your hands or a computer is really important for getting by. We aren't teachers or anything, just people who want to share what we know. People from the neighborhood drop in at all hours to ask questions or see what we are doing. It’s a very casual atmosphere. We don’t have a big budget, so we fix things ourselves when they break. It’s been a bit of a struggle to keep things running sometimes, but we’re still here. It feels good to see someone pick up a new skill in our little room on Ambedkar Road.
