Our office is Flat No. 210 in the Hou Society, located at FP 355 Part 1, near Meera Nagar in Pune. We go by H.O.W Help For Opportunities And Wellness Foundation. It’s a bit of a mouthful, so we just call it the office. The space is actually just a regular apartment that we’ve turned into a workspace. It’s got that homey feel, with a few old sofas and a kitchen where we make way too much coffee. We focus on helping people find work or get better access to health checkups. A lot of our day is spent on the phone or writing down notes on legal pads. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of us who are here most days and some friends who come by to help when they can. It is not a polished corporate environment by any means. There are usually some files sitting on the floor and the printer sometimes jams when we need it most. We like being near Meera Nagar because it’s easy for people to reach us by bus or rickshaw. We don't do any big promotions. Most people find us because someone they know told them we might be able to help. It’s a quiet, straightforward way of doing things, and we prefer it that way. We just try to help out one person at a time without any fuss or complicated rules.
