Hindustan Zinc Ltd. Vedanta Group

Out here in Golegaon, the air is a bit different than the city center. We are located in the Khed taluka of Pune district. It is a bit of a trek to get out here, but it is where the actual work is happening. As part of the Vedanta Group, we have our hands full with the zinc operations in this region. The office is pretty basic. We have got some old wooden desks and a lot of maps pinned on the walls. It is a place where we actually get our hands dirty sometimes. It is not just about sitting behind a computer screen all day. We deal with the local logistics and the site management. The weather in Pune is usually okay, but the monsoon can really change things around here and make the roads messy. We do not have a fancy page written by professionals. We are just writing this so people know we are real and working hard. We have our lunch together and talk about the local news or the cricket scores. There is no corporate hierarchy that feels heavy or annoying here. We just work together to get the day's tasks done. Sometimes we stay late when a shipment is due, and other days we leave early if the work is finished. It is a practical, no-nonsense kind of place for us.
