Hazrat Umar Farooque Foundation

We’re based on the ground floor of Virwani Plaza, which is at 11 East Street in the Camp area of Pune. Camp is always buzzing with people and shops, so there’s never a dull moment outside our windows. Hazrat Umar Farooque Foundation has been here for a while now. We like being on the ground floor because it makes it easy for anyone to just walk in if they have a question or need something. We don't have a fancy lobby or a security desk you have to get past. It’s just our door right there in the plaza. The office is functional. We have some desks, some chairs, and a lot of files. Pune is a great city, but like any big place, there are people who need a bit of extra help. We try to provide that however we can. We aren't a big corporate entity with a lot of rules. We just handle things as they come. Sometimes the traffic on East Street is so loud we have to close the door to hear each other, but we like the energy of the area. We’re just a group of people who wanted to do something good. We don’t use a lot of big words or complicated plans. We just look at the problems in front of us and try to find a way to fix them. It’s simple, direct work, and we’re happy to be doing it from our spot in Virwani Plaza. It suits us just fine.
