We’ve been at Plot No. 37 in the Swami Vivekanand Industrial Estate for quite a while now. If you head down Handewadi Road in Pune, you’ll find us right there among the other workshops. It gets pretty loud inside the shed with the welding and the grinding going on all day, but that’s just how it is when you’re working with steel. Most of us here have grease under our fingernails most of the time. We spend our days cutting metal and putting things together according to the drawings we get. Sometimes the heat in Pune makes the shop floor feel like an oven, but we just keep the fans going and get on with the job. It’s not fancy work, just basic engineering and making sure things are sturdy enough to hold up. We’ve got a couple of old machines that still run better than the new ones we bought last year. You learn after a few years that metal doesn’t always do what you want it to, so you have to know how to handle it. People stop by the office to talk about their projects, and we usually just sit around the big table with some tea to figure things out. It’s a busy place, and there’s always something being loaded onto a truck out front. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop in town, just the one that gets the parts finished on time.
