Setting up at 13 Chakan Honey Park Road was a practical choice for us. We’re tucked into the Manjire Complex, which is a sturdy enough building even if it shows its age a little bit. If you know the Shah Petrol Pump, then you know exactly where we are because we’re right opposite to it. It’s handy having the pump there for when the trucks need a fill-up before a long haul. Chakan is a busy area for this kind of work. The noise of the road is constant, and there is always a bit of dust in the air from all the construction and vehicles passing by. We keep the machines running most of the day, so it’s never really quiet inside either. The tea guy comes around twice a day, which is something everyone here looks forward to. The walls are a bit stained from grease and years of hard work, but that’s just how a machine tool place looks. We don’t have a fancy reception or anything like that. People just walk in through the main door and we talk over the sound of whatever is running at the time. It’s a straightforward way to spend the day. Sometimes the rain makes the road a bit messy, but the complex stays dry enough inside. We’ve got our routine down, and the location works for the kind of heavy stuff we handle. It’s just a regular shop doing regular work every single day.
