Our Pune office is over in Sangvi, in Premraj Vihar Bldg No. 04. It’s a residential-feeling area, which makes the work day feel a bit more relaxed than the city center. Gujarat Ambuja Cements Ltd, Pune has this spot to manage the local side of things in this part of the city. We aren't in one of those glass towers you see in the IT parks. It is just a regular building where we have our space on one of the floors. The rain in Pune can really slow things down, so we spend a lot of time checking the weather and talking to the drivers about road conditions. Inside, the office is pretty basic. We have our computers, a printer that usually works, and enough tea to get us through the afternoon. We mostly deal with the admin side of the cement business—paperwork, orders, and coordinating the trucks coming in from the plants. It gets a bit crowded when we have meetings or when the drivers come in to drop off their logs, but we make do with what we have. There’s a small balcony where we can see the street below. It’s a good way to see if a delivery is arriving. We don’t try to be anything we aren’t. We are just a local office doing the daily work of keeping the cement supply steady for the builders around here. It’s honest work and we like being part of the Sangvi neighborhood where people know us.
