Gokul Traders

Gokul Traders is situated at Number 979 in Raviwar Peth, right off Laxmi Road. This is one of the oldest and busiest parts of the city. If you come by during the day, you’ll have to fight through the crowds and the scooters parked everywhere. Our shop is a typical Peth establishment—narrow but deep, with goods stacked from the floor to the ceiling. We’ve been trading here for a long time, and the building shows its age, but it has a lot of character. We deal in various commodities depending on the season and what our customers are looking for. It’s a family business, and you’ll usually find one of us sitting at the wooden counter near the front. We don’t have a computer for everything; we still use some physical ledgers because they’ve never failed us yet. The atmosphere is loud because of the street noise, and we usually have the radio playing some old songs in the background. It gets very hot in the afternoons, so we have a big old ceiling fan that wobbles a bit but keeps the air moving. We know the regular shoppers and the other traders on Laxmi Road by name. There isn’t much space for a fancy office, so we just have a small stool for guests. It’s simple, honest trading work, and we’ve been doing it this way for years. We just keep our heads down and serve the people who walk in.
