Garware-Wall Ropes Limited, Pune

Our Kolkata office is tucked away in Flat 6B of Block II on N.S.C. Bose Road. It’s more of an apartment-style setup than a traditional office building, which gives it a bit of a different feel. We are part of the Garware-Wall Ropes group, though our roots are back in Pune. Being here in Kolkata, we handle the eastern side of things. N.S.C. Bose Road is always humming with activity, and it takes some time to get used to the pace. We mostly deal with the administrative side of the rope and netting business from this flat. It’s not a huge space, but it’s enough for what we need to do. We keep our records here and stay in touch with the main factory. The team is small, just a few of us sitting around desks with our computers. We don’t have a big sign outside, so you have to know where you’re going to find us. It’s a quiet way to work in a loud city. We take our lunch breaks together and talk about whatever is happening in the neighborhood. It’s a very grounded way to run a business. We focus on the daily tasks and don't worry about being flashy. It works for us and we’ve been here for a long time. The view from the sixth floor isn't bad either, mostly just the rooftops of the city.
