Ganesh Rolling Shutters

If you go down Sinhagad Road towards the Police Station Road, you’ll find us. We’re in Shop No 1 at Dodia Indsutrial Estate. It’s number 16-6 on that stretch. We are right near Savali Dhaba. You can usually hear the sound of metal being cut or welded before you see the shop. Ganesh Rolling Shutters is a loud place. There’s always iron and steel laying around. We spend our days measuring out slats and fitting springs. It’s greasy work. Our hands are usually black by lunchtime. We often go over to the dhaba to eat. It’s convenient. The industrial estate has a lot of trucks coming in and out. It’s not a pretty neighborhood, but it’s where things get made. We don't have a receptionist or a waiting room. People just walk into the workshop and talk to us. We show them the different types of shutters we can build. Some are manual, some have motors. We have pieces of metal scrap in the corners. The floor is stained with oil and old paint. It’s just how it is when you’re building heavy doors. We’ve been here at Sinhgad Road for a long time. We know the other shop owners in Dodia. We help each other out with tools sometimes. It’s a hard day’s work every day, but we like it that way. The shutters we make are solid and heavy.
