This location is a bit different as it is out in Bhatwade, near Kalamwadi in the Walwa Taluka of Sangli. It is a rural area, so the office is more of a field base than a city headquarters. We are set up at Arvind Mahadev Jadhav’s place. It is a practical arrangement that puts us right where the work is happening in this part of Maharashtra. The surroundings are quiet, mostly fields and local homes. Our setup is very basic. We have a couple of desks, some chairs, and all the necessary site documents stored in metal trunks. It is the kind of place where you leave your muddy boots at the door. We do not have high-speed internet or fancy office equipment. Instead, we rely on mobile phones and physical logs to track our progress. The air is fresh out here, which is a nice change from the city offices. We spend most of our time walking the sites and talking to the local laborers. When we need to do paperwork, we sit in the small office area and just get it done. It is an honest way to work, being so close to the earth and the actual construction. We deal with the weather and the local conditions as they come. It is not a polished environment, but it is perfect for the type of rural infrastructure projects we manage here. We are just a small group of people working hard in the Sangli district to make things happen.
