Freight

Our office is tucked away at C-12, Gokhale Vrundavan, right near Chaphekar Chowk in Chinchwadgaon. If you know Pune 33, you know how the traffic can get around the chowk, especially during the rush hours. We go by the name Freight, and that is pretty much what we do all day long. We handle the boxes, the crates, and the big loads that need to get from one side of the country to the other. It is a lot of phone calls to drivers and checking on where the trucks are. The office is not very big and it usually has stacks of manifests and delivery notes sitting on the tables. We are not some big shiny corporation with a lobby and a fountain. We are just a small group of people working out of a residential-looking building. It gets a bit noisy with the street sounds coming in, but you get used to it after a while. Most of the guys here have been doing this for years, so we know which roads are bad and which ports are slow. We do not use any fancy logistics software that costs a fortune; we just use what works and keep our eyes on the cargo. It is a practical way to run things. We just show up, do the work, and hope the rain does not slow down the deliveries too much.
