Down at 326 Camp Chimni Road, you’ll find us at Fortune Camera. It’s a pretty simple shop. We’ve got cameras and gear lining the shelves, and there is usually a bit of a mess behind the counter where we’re working on something. The road outside can get pretty noisy with the local traffic, but it’s a good neighborhood. We spend most of our time looking through lenses or trying to fix a shutter that’s stuck. It’s the kind of place where people drop in just to chat about photography or ask what kind of bag they should get for a trip. We don’t have any big sales pitches or shiny displays. Everything is a bit older and has that worn-in feel. We’ve been at this location for a long time, and the building itself has some character. The lighting isn't great, but we know where everything is. We handle a lot of different equipment, from the new digital stuff to the older cameras that people still like to use. It’s a lot of manual work and patience. Sometimes we can fix things right away, and other times we have to wait for a part to show up. We just keep at it every day. It’s a small operation, just a couple of us who know our way around a camera body and a lens. There is always a stray lens cap or a roll of film lying around somewhere.
