Out here at L-77 in the Additional MIDC area of Satara, things are pretty quiet compared to the city center. We deal with fabric markets and the services around that, so our day is mostly spent looking at samples or talking to suppliers. The industrial area is spread out, and we’ve got a decent amount of space in our unit. It’s mostly just shelves and stacks of material waiting to be moved. The wind picks up quite a bit across the open fields near the MIDC, which blows a lot of dust into the office if we leave the windows open. We’ve got a small team here. Most of us have been in this line of work for years, so we know the difference between a good roll of cloth and something that isn't worth the price. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to make sure the stuff we handle is what the clients expect. There’s a lot of paperwork involved in market services, more than you’d think. Our desks are usually covered in ledger books and samples of different weaves. We eat lunch together most days at the small table in the back. It’s a steady pace of life. We like being in Satara; it’s a good place for a business like ours to grow without all the madness of Mumbai or Pune. It’s taken time to get used to the rhythm of the place, but we’re doing alright.
