The shop is over in Mukund Nagar, at number 58. We’ve been working with wood for quite a long time. It’s a dusty place, honestly. You walk in and you immediately smell the sawdust and the cut lumber. That’s just part of the job at Ekbote Logos & Lumber Pvt Ltd. We spend most of our mornings sorting through stacks of wood, looking for pieces that aren't warped or full of too many knots. Sometimes it takes a while to find exactly what’s needed for a specific project. We aren't really into those big flashy advertisements. We mostly just focus on the work right in front of us. My hands are usually pretty rough from handling the boards all day. We do a mix of things here, some design work and a lot of actual cutting and sanding. Mukund Nagar is a decent area to work in, though parking can be a bit of a headache for the guys sometimes. We have a small crew and most of us have been here for years. We know where every tool is kept, even if the place looks a bit cluttered to someone else. It isn’t a corporate office with clean desks. It’s a workshop. We drink a lot of tea while we talk about how to get a certain joint to fit right or how to fix a mistake someone made the day before.
