Our place, Durga Works, is situated in the Chakan area, specifically on the 28th Main in the 9th Block. Chakan is a massive industrial hub, so it’s always busy around here. There’s a constant stream of traffic and the smell of exhaust and metal in the air. We’ve been here for a while, just doing our thing. The shop isn't anything special to look at. It’s a functional space where we do a lot of fabrication and general repair work. We have a few welding machines and a lot of hand tools scattered around. Sometimes it’s hard to find a specific wrench because someone didn’t put it back, but we eventually track it down. My hands are usually stained black from the work, and my boots have seen better days. We don't have a receptionist or a waiting room. If you come to see us, you just walk right into the work area and find one of us. We might be under a piece of machinery or busy with a torch, but we’ll stop to see what you need. It’s a rough-and-ready kind of lifestyle. We don't worry about corporate image or looking professional in the traditional sense. We just worry about getting the work done right so the customer can get back to their own business. It’s a plain way of living, but it suits us just fine. We just try to get through the day's tasks.
