We’ve been running this Dtdc Courier & Cargo Ltd spot out of Mahatma Housing Society in Kothrud for a while now. It’s a pretty standard operation where we just handle the day-to-day shipping needs of people around Pune. You’ll find us easily enough if you know the area. The office isn’t much to look at, just some desks, a few chairs for people waiting, and piles of boxes waiting to go out. We spend a lot of time weighing parcels and taping up cardboard. Sometimes the internet is slow and it takes a minute to get the tracking numbers sorted, but that’s just how it goes. People bring in everything from documents to big heavy cartons. We try to keep the place organized, but when a big shipment comes in, it gets a bit crowded. Our regulars from the neighborhood stop by, and we usually know what they need before they even say it. We don't have a big team, just a few of us making sure things get loaded onto the trucks at the right time. The Pune weather can get hot, so the fan is always on. We aren't trying to do anything fancy here. We just take your stuff, write out the receipts, and make sure it gets to where it’s supposed to go. It’s straightforward work. We keep extra bubble wrap under the counter because you never know when someone will bring something fragile. There is a small tea stall just outside where we go for a break.
