Our laboratory is out in Bhukum, which is part of the Mulshi taluka. You have to look for Gate Number 41 on Pirangut Road to find us. We are pretty close to the Nerolac Paints godown and Panasare’s building, so those are good landmarks if you are coming for the first time. It is a bit quieter out here compared to the city, which is nice for the kind of analytical work we do. We spend our days testing samples and looking at data in our labs. It is not a job where you can rush, so the atmosphere is usually pretty focused. The building is simple and serves its purpose. We have a lot of specialized equipment inside that we have to keep very clean. The staff mostly comes in from the surrounding areas of Pune, using the 020 area code. We do not have a big lobby or anything like that; you just walk in and the lab is right there. Sometimes we take a walk outside near the road just to get some fresh air during the breaks. It is a straightforward operation. We just do the tests that people need and write up the results. It is a steady routine of calibration and measuring. We have been at this location for a while now and the local people know what we do. The view of the hills in the distance is quite nice when the weather is clear.
