Being located right by the Army Camp in Pune gives Dnyaneshwar Co-Op Soc a very specific kind of environment. It’s a bit more disciplined around here because of the military presence nearby. We handle the day-to-day management and coordination for the society from our office on the grounds. It is a lot of routine stuff like making sure the maintenance is done, talking to the residents about their issues, and keeping the books in order. The office is usually a hub of activity with people dropping by to pay fees or complain about a leaky pipe. We don't have a polished front desk or anything like that. It is just a room with some filing cabinets and a computer that’s seen better days. Pune weather is usually nice, so we spend a lot of time walking around the grounds checking on things. It’s a community-focused job, so you have to be ready to talk to all sorts of people. We don’t have a grand mission or anything; we just want to make sure the lights stay on and the place stays clean for everyone living here. It can be a bit of a headache when something major breaks, but that’s just part of the job. We have been here for a while and the people who live here are like neighbors to us. We just keep the society running smoothly, one day at a time, without any fuss.
