Divikriaa Foundation

You have to go up to the 4th floor of the Sujagi Building on Connaught Road to find us. We are in Flat No-1. It’s an old building in a central part of Pune. Divikriaa Foundation is the name we use. The lift is a bit slow sometimes, but the view from the window is alright. We use this flat for all our foundation work. It’s mostly desks and stacks of papers. We deal with various social projects, mostly things that come up in the local area. It isn't a fancy corporate setup. We have a kitchen where we make a lot of tea and a main room where we do most of our talking. People come by for meetings or just to drop off documents. Connaught Road is a busy area, so there’s always something happening outside. We aren't trying to change the whole world at once, just doing small things that help. It’s a bit cramped when we have more than five people in the room, but we manage. We don't spend money on expensive furniture or decorations. We’d rather use it for the actual work we do. It’s just a handful of us working here every day. It feels more like a small family business than a big foundation, and that suits us just fine. We usually stay late if there is a big project finishing up. It's just the way we operate in this little fourth-floor flat.
