Designers India operates from the ground floor of the Pavna Industrial Complex, specifically unit T-204 at C-16 in M.I.D.C. Bhosari. Being on the ground floor is convenient because we have things coming in and out all the time. Bhosari is a huge industrial hub in Pune, so there is always a lot of activity right outside our door. The complex is older, and you can see the wear and tear on the walls, but it serves its purpose. Inside our space, we have our design setups and some basic workshop tools. It’s not a sterile studio like you might see in a magazine. We have sketches pinned to the walls and half-finished projects sitting on the tables. It can get a bit loud with the other units in the Pavna complex running their machines, but we just turn up the radio and keep working. We are a small team and we do most of the work ourselves, from the first drawing to the final check. We don't have a big corporate structure or fancy titles. We just like to figure out how to make things look good and function properly. The commute through the M.I.D.C. traffic can be a pain, but once we are in the shop, we just focus on the tasks at hand. It's a practical, no-nonsense kind of place where we just try to do decent design work every day.
