Design Place Architects

Sadashiv Peth 1 is where you will find Design Place Architects. It is an old part of town and the streets are always full of people and scooters. Our office is right in the middle of all that energy. It is a bit cramped inside because we have so many books and magazines about architecture. We have been working out of this space for quite a while now. The walls are covered in sketches and some old photos of projects we finished years ago. It feels like a real workshop here. We are always drinking tea and talking about how to fix a specific design problem. It is not always quiet and sometimes the noise from the street makes it hard to hear on the phone. But we like being in the heart of the city. We do a lot of drafting and a lot of talking to contractors who come by to ask questions. There is no big marketing team here. It is just us doing the work day after day. We spend a lot of time thinking about how to use small spaces because that’s what we see in the Peth areas. It is practical work and we try to stay focused on the task at hand. Sometimes we work late when a deadline is coming up but we don't mind much. It feels good to see a plan finally come together after all the scribbling.
