Our business, Desai Autocom Industries Pvt. Ltd., is located at S.No. 40/4 in the Balaji area of Udhayam Nagar, over in Wadgaon Sheri. It’s a bit of a residential-meets-industrial neighborhood, which gives it a different feel than the bigger industrial estates. We’ve got a steady group of people working here who mostly live nearby. The building itself is pretty plain, just a functional space where we handle automotive components. We don't go in for fancy signs or big advertisements. Most people find us because they need something specific done and they know we’ve been here for a while. The work is mostly repetitive, but it requires everyone to pay attention to what they’re doing. There’s a lot of manual handling and checking parts by hand. We keep the doors open most of the time to let the air circulate, so you can hear the sounds of the neighborhood mixed with the hum of our machinery. Sometimes things get a bit disorganized when a big order comes in, but we usually find a way to straighten it out. We don't have a dedicated HR department or a bunch of managers running around. It’s just the owner and the staff working side by side. We focus on the tasks at hand and try to make sure we don't fall behind. It’s a regular shop where people work hard and keep to themselves mostly.
