We are located right on the Mumbai Pune Road, which is one of the busiest stretches of tarmac you’ll ever see. Being here at Alfa Laval (india) Ltd. means we are constantly surrounded by the sound of traffic heading between the two cities. It’s a big site, much larger than the little shops you find in the city centers. We have been a fixture on this road for a long time. The office buildings are older but they were built to last. There’s a lot of walking involved just to get from one department to another. We have a lot of different people working here, from engineers to administrative staff. It’s not the kind of place where everyone knows everyone else’s business, but there’s a certain rhythm to the day that we all follow. The canteen is usually where we all meet up and catch up on things. We don't put on a show for visitors. What you see is what you get—a lot of people working hard to keep things moving. The trees along the road help block out some of the noise, but you never really forget where you are. It’s a practical location for us because it makes shipping and receiving much easier, even if the traffic is a nightmare during peak hours. Most of us have been working here for years and we’ve become part of the landscape on this highway. It’s just a big, busy place doing what it needs to do every single day.
