At D K Tyres, we spend most of our time out in the garage area or at the front counter. The shop is at numbers 18 and 19 in Ashoka Nagar. We’re right by the Kharadi By Pass on B T Kawade Road. If you see the Shri Ram Finance building, we are directly across from that. It’s a loud area because of the trucks and cars zooming by on the bypass. We have stacks of tyres everywhere, different sizes for different vehicles. It’s dirty work, changing out old rubber and getting new sets balanced. My hands are usually covered in some kind of grease by noon. We don’t have a fancy waiting room or anything, just some chairs if you need to sit while we work on the wheels. The bypass makes it easy for people to pull in when they notice a flat or need a replacement. We’ve been here long enough that we know most of the shortcuts around Kharadi. It’s a busy road, so there's always someone coming in with a puncture. We just keep the tools ready and work through the pile of jobs. It isn’t a complicated business, just tyres and wheels. We stay open pretty late sometimes when the work piles up. The weather gets hot out here near the road, but we just get on with it. It's just a regular shop where we do the work and keep vehicles moving.
