Cummins India Limited

People usually find us here in Kasbapeth because we are so close to the Kasba Ganpati temple. It is a very old part of Pune, so the streets are narrow and always full of people moving around. Our office for Cummins India Limited is up on the third floor in flat number seven at 144 Kasbapeth. If you take the stairs, you might be a bit out of breath by the time you reach us, but that’s just how it is in these older buildings. We’ve been operating from this spot for a while now. The noise from the street comes up through the windows, especially during festivals when the whole area gets really crowded. Inside, it’s just a regular workspace with desks and some files stacked up. We keep things pretty simple here. Most of the morning is spent sorting through paperwork and answering the phone. Around lunchtime, some of us go down to the local stalls for some tea or a quick bite. It’s not a fancy glass building like you see in the new parts of the city. It’s just a practical space where we get our daily work done. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit, but we just wait it out and talk. It’s a tight-knit neighborhood, and everyone knows everyone else. You see the same faces every day, which makes it feel more like a community than just a place of business.
