Creation

Our shop is right in the heart of Camp. If you’ve spent any time in this part of Pune, you know it has a specific feel that you don’t get anywhere else. Creation has been tucked away in these lanes for quite some time. We do a bit of everything here, mostly focused on making things look right and getting projects finished for folks who drop by. The building is old, like most things in Camp, so the walls are thick and it stays a bit cooler in the summer. We don't have a big flashy entrance or a receptionist at a desk. Usually, you’ll just find one of us hunched over a work table or talking to a vendor on the sidewalk outside. It gets pretty loud with the bikes and the people walking to the nearby markets. We like the energy of the area though. It keeps us moving. Our work is practical. We take an idea and we try to build it or draw it out until it makes sense to the person who asked for it. There’s a lot of trial and error involved in what we do. Some days we are buried in samples and sketches, and other days we’re just running around trying to find the right materials. We’ve lived and worked in this neighborhood so long that we know all the local spots for a quick snack or a tea break. It’s a messy process sometimes, and the office reflects that, but we always find what we’re looking for in the end. It’s just home.
