Alphatech Plastics

Rastan Colony in Chinchwad is where we do all our work. It’s an industrial neighborhood, so you hear the sounds of factories all day long. We deal with plastics here, mostly small parts and molded items. The smell of melting plastic is something that stays with you even after you go home. I started this place in a small unit and we haven’t changed much since then. We have a few injection molding machines that run for most of the day. It’s not a high-tech facility with robots or anything. It is mostly just us manual workers checking the parts as they come out of the molds. Sometimes the colors don't come out exactly right on the first try, so we have to tweak the mix. It's a lot of trial and error. My desk is in a corner of the workshop, covered in plastic samples and old coffee mugs. We don't have a receptionist. If the phone rings, whoever is closest picks it up. Chinchwad is a busy place for manufacturing, and we are just one small part of it. We don't have a big corporate story. We just make plastic things that people need for their businesses. The lighting is a bit dim in the back, but we know where everything is. It’s a bit messy, but it’s a working shop. We just keep the machines running and hope for no power cuts. That's about it for us here in Rastan Colony. We just keep working.
