We've been over here at Pawar Vasti for quite a while now. If you know the Chikhali area in Pune, you know it gets pretty busy with all the small shops and workshops around. Our place at number 786 is just a regular spot where we get our work done. Most days start early, usually with a cup of tea while we look at what needs finishing from the day before. It isn't anything fancy, just a practical space with the tools we need. We mostly deal with people from around here who just drop by because they know where we are. Sometimes the power goes out or the road gets blocked up with trucks, but that is just how it is in this part of town. We don't spend much time on fancy office work. Most of our time is spent on the floor, making sure things are moving. It’s a lot of manual work and checking orders. My cousin helps out sometimes when things get backed up. We have seen the area change a lot, more buildings going up every year, but we just keep doing what we do. It’s honest work. We know most of the neighbors by name and they know where to find us if something comes up. It’s not a big corporate setup, just a local business trying to stay busy and keep the bills paid. Nothing more to it than that, really. We just show up and work.
