The G.I.D.C. Estate in Naroda is a crowded place and our spot at Plot No. 182/1 & 2 is right in the thick of it. Chemical Plant & Equipment Mfg. Company is really just a big shed full of steel plates and welding torches. You will see guys in masks working on massive tanks that take up most of the floor space. There is always the sound of grinding metal or the hiss of a welder. It is dusty and loud, which is just how it goes in this part of Naroda. We don’t have a marketing team or anyone to answer the phones with a script. Usually, someone just wipes their hands on a rag and picks up the line. We look at a lot of blueprints and spend the day measuring pipes and checking seals. If you walk into the office, you will see piles of paperwork and half-finished tea cups. It is a practical environment where the focus is on the fabrication work. The sun beats down on the corrugated roof and makes the shop floor pretty warm by noon. We move things around with a crane when they get too heavy for the guys to handle. It is just about getting the equipment built right so it doesn't fail when it gets to the chemical site. We have been here a long time and the gates are always open for the delivery trucks.
