Carrier Guidance

We’re located over on Sinhgad Road, which is always packed with traffic no matter what time it is. Carrier Guidance started because we saw a lot of younger people around here not knowing what to do with their schooling. We don't have a big office with glass walls or fancy rugs. It’s just a couple of rooms with some desks and a lot of printed pamphlets. We spend most of our time talking to students and their parents. It gets pretty loud sometimes when families start arguing about which college is better. We just sit there and listen, then try to offer some practical advice based on what we’ve seen work for others. We aren't experts in everything, but we’ve been doing this long enough to know the local system. Sometimes the internet at the office goes down, and we have to use our phones to look things up for people. It’s a bit messy, but it gets the job done. We don't use any fancy psychological tests or anything like that. We just talk and try to figure out what makes sense. Some days are quiet, especially during the holidays, but once the exam results come out, the phone doesn't stop ringing. We’re just trying to help the local kids figure out their next step without making it too complicated or stressful for them. We’ve been in this same spot for years and don't plan on moving.
